Bbq Asian tuna steak recipe

So simple, so easy, so delicious, and so nutritious. I absolutely love fresh tuna steak and cooking them on the bbq means less faff and less washing up. Always a bonus! The strong Asian flavours here of soy, chilli, spring onions and fresh coriander compliment the fish beautifully and really let the flavours sing.

Method

Pre-heat the bbq so that it is ready to cook.

Season the tuna steaks on both sides with a drizzle of rapeseed oil, Maldon sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

In a small bowl, mix together the soy, honey, lemon juice, chilli, sesame seeds, spring onion and fresh coriander.

When the bbq is ready, sear the tuna for 2 minutes on either side.

Serve with lashings of the sauce and a summer potato salad for a super healthful reinvention of fish and chips!

When you buy tuna, try and buy line caught and get the darkest meat that you can. Personally I prefer thinner steaks to super thick ones as you can get the heat to start penetrating through to the middle, but each to their own!”
