It's too easy to reach for the bread ham and cheese isn't it? Soups are a great way to do this, and there are ways to make them even more faff-free by roasting ingredients first so all you have to do is add water and vegetable bouillon and blitz (when Google Classroom allows!).

Remember you can freeze any leftovers or, if they are tomato based, keep them in the fridge for up to 5 days for pasta/gnocchi and pizza sauce.

I hope that helps 😊. Xx

Lunch ideas πŸ’‘ ... this my classic slaw that I h Lunch ideas πŸ’‘ ... this my classic slaw that I have year round when I think there's nothing to eat. Peel and grate a carrot, a small chunk of celeriac, 1/3 courgette and a grated chunk of cheddar or Parmesan. All on the large grate to add texture and substance. I dress it with a splash of oil, cider vinegar and salt and pepper. It's super simple and takes seconds to prepare (which is good as homeschool leaves zero time for food prep!). Often have two boiled eggs with it as well and a few slices of my toasted DizzleSky loaf.

Don't wory if all you feel like grabbing are the biscuits. I just wanted to share this as I know lots of you are looking for lunch inspo now you're at home. And just to keep it real, there's no way in hell my kids would touch it! They go for the boiled egg, a cheese sandwich, a peeled carrot and some apple. Same same but different. Hope you are okay today x

New Year is traditionally a time when we start wit New Year is traditionally a time when we start with new resolutions. Ideas of things we'd like to change and improve. Goals we'd like to set. With this in mind, it's worth remembering that it's the tiny changes to mindset and daily processes which make all the difference. The goals are great to have, but think about the process of how you are going to put it into action so that it creates a habit rather than a yo-yo of behaviours. One small positive step in the right direction will slowly (but surely) get you to the critical threshold where a new process turns into a habit, which becomes part of you and your identity.

So, if this year, you'd like to eat more healthily, then the goal is not to eat more healthily, the goal is to become a healthful eater. Think of the processes you need to do in order to achieve this, become it, own it and the rest (weight loss, feeling better, more motivation, feedback from others etc) will follow. If you'd like to discuss how to smash your goals for 2021 in detail, then just give me a shout and we can book in a call.

For a 1.8kg bird, pop on a roasting tray with a rack (to drain the fat), with a drizzle of rapeseed oil, pinch of salt and good grind of pepper. I like to put some sprigs of rosemary and thyme in the cavity too. Put it in a high oven at 220 degrees to crisp the skin, and then turn down to 160 degrees for 2.5 hours. You can tell it's cooked when the leg pulls away from the bird. Take the fat off the juices and serve as gravy.

You'll be amazed how quickly it disappears. This one fed me and Jase and the 3 kids... just!

I've just been on a fascinating call on values, an I've just been on a fascinating call on values, and it made me really reflect. I state (and really believe) that my brand values are authentic, unique, value-driven, supportive and healthful. But does this mean that I won't work with people who don't align to the same values? Not at all. Beyond these layers we are all human. I think values are useful as they help you create a path ahead and keep you in check. But what I believe above all else is unconditional positive regard in humans. Treating (or doing my bloody best to work towards) every person with unconditional positive regard. A blank paper. Recognising but shelving my unconcious bias. Seeing what purpose it serves, acknowledging it, then erasing it. That's the goal. Can we truly get there? Thoughts? 🧐Xx

Anyone else finding these early nights really hard Anyone else finding these early nights really hard? I keep on crashing at 8:30pm! Fast asleep. Last year I did a lot of research into circadian rhythms and how when we eat affects the way our bodies grow and heal. But as much as that, our circadian rhythm in the Northern Hemisphere has to make a huge adjustment at this time of year, especially this year. So my three tops tips are:

1️⃣ Get outside when you can and make the most of the daylight hours
2️⃣ Try to make sure you have a 10-12 hour gap between when you last have a bite to eat or sip of anything but water or herbal tea. This will help weight loss and overall 'feeling good'.
3️⃣ Give in to the feeling of hibernation. Acknowledge and then get rid of the feelings of guilt for not doing anything (no FOMO this year), look after your body and enjoy the hibernation.

Look after yourselves and be kind.

How often do we really Stop βœ‹, Look πŸ‘€ and Listen πŸ‘‚? Our senses are alert when we see a sign like this and we respond by stopping, looking and listening for a train. But how often do we Stop, Look and Listen on a daily basis?

Is it stopping and listening to our bodies before eating? Or stopping, looking, listening and assesing a situation before responding? Or simply stopping, looking and listening (like reeeaaaalllly deeply actively listening - clearing your mind and using every inch of your body to focus) to family, friends and colleagues speaking? Stopping, looking and listening is something we can all benefit from. I know I certainly can and this is always a welcome reminder.
