Ingredients

Makes 1 large glass

  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 1 pear, ends removed and quartered
  • 1 large handful of baby spinach, washed
  • 1 kiwi, peeled
  • 1/4 soft avocado, peeled and stone removed
  • 125ml cold water

You will need a Nutribullet or blender

Kiwi, spinach, avocado & lime smoothie

This is an absolutely delightful smoothie that will leave you feeling clean, refreshed and full of life. The great thing about smoothies is that they are a brilliant way to get an instant healthful hit, and can be used as part of a healthy balanced diet. I was really impressed by this one. It’s the first time I’ve included avocado for the creaminess as I usually like to use banana, nuts or oats. However it’s a gorgeous combination and adds the creaminess without the sweetness. That’s what the pear is for! The kiwi and lime add zing and freshness and the spinach adds Popeye strength. One not to be missed!

Method

Place the ingredients in a Nutribullet or juicer. Blitz to until smooth.

Serve immediately.

There’s no exact science to smoothies and you can add more kiwi, pear, spinach, lime or avocado to suit your taste. A bit of raw ginger would be a lovely addition.”
